Cockroaches (Most common outdoor cockroach) - German Cockroach (Most Common indoor cockroach)
- Brown Banded Cockroach
- Oriental Cockroach
- Smoky Brown Cockroach
- Turkistan Cockroach (Least likely to have in Fresno)
Brown banded Cockroach ( Commonly Indoors)
Brown banded cockroaches are the closet to german roaches. Unlike german roaches they prefer dry areas such as high cabinets and furniture. They are about a half an inch as adults and they have a brown band that separates the head from there torso
Smoky Brown Cockroach ( Commonly Outdoor)
Smoky Brown Cockroach are the newest roach spotted in California and are believed to be coming over in shipping containers mainly from Taxes. The Smoky Brown cockroach usually lives outside in damp areas such as mulch, wood piles rotten trees and so on.
Smoky Brown Cockroaches are attracted to light inside home and can sneak in if window or doors are left open or there is even a small gap in the doors or windows.
Most cockroaches are not picky eaters. They can live off of dropping, dead insects, meat, sweet and starches.
The Smoky Brown Cockroach is a little more shiny, slightly smaller on average and is more attracted to light then the American Cockroach. It is an easy mistake to assume an American Cockroach for Smoky Brown and vica versa.
German Cockroaches ( Commonly Indoor )
German Roaches (Most common indoor roach) can bread almost anywhere and can be brought in through a garage sale item, work laptops (they love electronics) fresh produce and countless other ways.
One female hitchhiking roach will lay an outhica that holds 20-30 babies roaches, making it possible to 10x their population every 60 days. They will quickly hide in your walls, inside your fridge, behind your dishwasher. They shed their exoskeleton that breaks down and becomes part of the air you bread inside your home. This is a major cause of allergies, breathing problems and germs.
We start with a full inspection and roach clean out service. We utilize baits, sprays, dust, IGR, and traps. Then we set up a monthly service plan and rotate the active ingredients making it hard for the roaches adapt to the treatments.
Oriental Cockroach ( Commonly Outdoors)
The oriental Cockroach is mainly outside. They can grow to be an inch long, usually dark in color and create a musky oder. It is possible for the Oriental Cockroach to slip into a home through small gaps. You can spot them in damp areas such sewers and drains.
Turkistan Cockroach ( Commonly Out Doors)
Turkistan Cockroach also know as rusty red are another type of outdoor roach that is in the Central Valley. They can grow up to 1.25 inch long and are solid black in color with a light red border around there wings.
American Roaches ( Commonly Out Doors)
American Roaches (most common outdoor roach) are the largest type of roaches’ in this region and can grow up to 1.5 inches long. the roaches molt and shed the exoskeleton. Their color can change based on how long it has been since they molted but are usually a reddish color. It is not uncommon for a person to pick up a board and have hundreds of these roaches scatter and can often be found in garages.
For outdoor roaches we advise an every- other month service plan. We start with creating a barrier around the base of your home and work outward. We will do a full inspection of your yard to make sure you have the best protection possible.
It’s a half truth. Cleaning alone will get rid of roaches but it is an important step in eradication. Roaches infest clean homes and kitchens everyday. Just because you see a roach does not mean that you have a dirty hoe or business.
Facts: It is almost impossible to get rid of roaches unless everything is cleaned first. Try to remove moisture, food and hiding spots. This will speed up the process.

No, If you are dealing with an indoor species because they will/are laying eggs in your walls, electronics and behind you cabinets. You will need to get on a service plan till all the eggs have hatched.
Myth: If it worked for my friend or worked before at my house, it will work again. Cockroaches adapt to treatments and become resident to the same products being used over and over again.
Although organic products are good for a directs contacts kill, most of the problem is in the walls, voids and wires. This requires a slow acting product that can spread from roach to roach.
Fact: There are very good organic products that will kill roaches if they are sprayed directly. We would highly recommend using an organic product to kill roaches on your counters and avoid chemical products.
Every type of roach behaves differently. Here are the three most common attractants.
- Food (meat, dead insects, droppings, sugar, starches)
- Hiding Spot (spaces they can feel pressure on both sides of there body)
- Water (most like high moisture areas, there are exceptions)
The fastest way to get rid of roaches is to clean your house supper well with soap and water. Pull out the fridge, oven, microwave and even dishwasher if possible and clean out the appliances and with special attention to hinges and cracks.
Then Pull everything out of the cabinets ( even the shelving boards if possible and clean with soap and water as well as getting in the hinges. leave cabinets empty and appliances pulled away from the wall and then call a licensed profesional to come in and treat the home.
WARNING: This is the fastest way to get rid of roaches. It may still take a year to get 100% eradication.
If you see cockroaches in cabinets or climbing walls or on counters inside during the day it’s time to talk to a licensed professional to verify if it’s an infestation.
If you only seen one or two on the floor and they are larger in size ( about an inch) it is time to get your home treated but it is less likely you have an infestation
Roaches are nocturnal and hide and dark damp spots during the day. This can be inside furniture,picture frames, inside electrical devises such as a computer, tv, fridge or microwave. they also live in wall voids and when the population is really out of control they will live in the corners
- Step 1. Clean out the cabinets completely with soap and water, especially the hinges.
- Step 2. Identify the type of cockroach
- Step 3. Use Non-toxic traps to locate the problem areas
- Step 4. Use a neutering agent to slow down there breading
- Step 5. Flush them out of the walls and hiding spot
- Step 6. Treat inside all the wall voids, cracks and crevices
- Step 7. Start applying a bait directly into cracks and crevice ever 6 to 12 inches. You only need to use small droplets.
- Step 8. Replace or install new glue traps to determine progress
repeat steps as needed
